The Alabama Crimson Tide are preparing for the upcoming season. Senior defensive lineman Da’Shawn Hand got in trouble on Saturday morning, as he was arrested for driving under the influence.

The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office released his mug shot this morning. He was released on $1,000 bond.

The Sheriff’s Office has not released any other details on the matter. Also, at this time, the Crimson Tide have not addressed the issue.

Hand was regarded as a top-five prospect coming out of high school. He was expected to replace Jonathan Allen in the starting lineup this season.

Allen was the 17th overall pick in the first-round by the Washington Redskins. Like Allen, he’s expected to be a strong NFL prospect, possibly even in the first-round; however, he’ll now have character issues moving forward.

Last season as a junior, Hand had 21 tackles, including 2.5 tackles for a loss and a sack. He also had a forced fumble in 10 games.

In 21 career games with Bama, he has 44 career tackles, including 11 tackles for a loss. He also has 6.0 sacks and the aforementioned forced fumble.
