Amid reports that Jon Jones failed yet another drug test, his team has released a statement. The violation is in regards to his UFC 214 fight in Anaheim, Calif. against Daniel Cormier.

“We are all at a complete loss for words right now,” his team statement said. “Jon, his trainers, his nutritionists and his entire camp have worked tirelessly and meticulously the past 12 months to avoid this exact situation.

“We are having the samples tested again to determine the validity or source of contamination. Jon is crushed by this news and we are going whatever we can as a team, to support him.”

TMZ was the first to break the news that Jones failed the drug test. They also alleged that he was stripped of the belt.

They said that he tested positive for Turinabol, an anabolic steroid. While the website said one thing, UFC president Dana White has said to ESPN that Jones has not been stripped of his new UFC Light Heavyweight Championship he won on July 29th.

If he’s stripped of the belt, TMZ speculates that the belt would then go back to Cormier, who he has defeated twice since 2015.

Jones has had a history of failing drug tests. He failed a USADA drug test in July 2016 and was then suspended one-year.

Now, he’s reportedly facing a four-year suspension from mixed martial arts.
