The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics may have to re-work their blockbuster deal from earlier this week. The Cavaliers are worrying about Isaiah Thomas’ hip injury.

Thomas, who injured the hip in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Cavaliers, had a physical on Friday, but did not stick around. After the physical, he flew out of town.

“Cleveland has more questions about his hip,” ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. “Danny Ainge said this was one of the reasons he made the trade.”

The Cavaliers are still looking over his medical reports. As a result, they are looking at other options to complete the Kyrie Irving deal.

Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Žižić and the Brooklyn Nets 2018 pick went to the Cavaliers. Cleveland coveted the unprotected 2018 first-round pick by the Brooklyn Nets next season more than acquiring Thomas, who can be a free agent next summer.

Thomas was a piece of the deal to help make the deal work. And the pick would help in case Thomas and LeBron James decides to leave after next season.

“It’s a very senstitive issue,” a source told Wojnarowski.

All four players have to pass their physicals, or the deal would be voided. This will be interesting to watch in the coming days.
