Preview: Oregon State @ Colorado State

On Saturday afternoon, the Oregon State Beavers and the Colorado State Rams will kick off the college football season. They will kick off the season at 2:30 pm EST on the CBS Sports Network at CSU Stadium.

This is the first game of the season for both teams. According to Covers.com, the Rams have a 68% chance to win the game.

This is the third career meeting between the schools. The Beavers won the last meeting in 1975, as they won 17-8 for their lone win that season.

Colorado State won the 1962 meeting as they won 25-14.

Oregon State is coming into the game with a two game win streak, as they defeated the Oregon Ducks and the Arizona Wildcats in those games. Their last lost was on Nov. 12, 2016 against the UCLA Bruins when they lost 38-24.

Colorado State lost its last game to the Idaho Vandals when they lost 61-50 on Dec. 22, 2016. Their last win of the season came on Nov. 26, 2016 when they defeated the San Diego State Aztecs 63-31.

The Beavers would like to improve on their 4-8 record last season. They were tied with the Ducks for the last spot in the Pac-12 North standings.

The Rams finished with a 7-6 record last season.

Nick Stevens, the Rams senior quarterback last season, led the team with ,1936 passing yards. He also had 19 touchdowns and five interceptions.

Dalyn Dawkins, also a senior running back, had 919 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Michael Gallup, a senior wide receiver, had 1,272 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns.

Marcus McMaryion, now a junior quarterback, had 1,286 passing yards during his sophomore year. He also had 10 touchdowns and five interceptions.

Ryan Nall, who is now a senior running back, had 951 rushing yards last season with 13 touchdowns. Victor Bolden Jr., a senior wide receiver, who is now with the San Francisco 49ers, had 542 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
