The saga around Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott’s suspension continues. The NFL is not expected to make a ruling on his appeal on Monday.

But the billion-dollar league has filed a motion, according to Pro Football Talk, to dismiss the federal cases brought on by the NFL Players’ Association, which supports its player.

However, USA Today Sports is reporting that the ‘league is claiming the NFLPA doesn’t have the standing to seek a temporary restraining order for a decision that does not yet exist.’ Harold Henderson, the arbitrator, has not made a ruling in the case — and as we mentioned above, no ruling is expected until Tuesday at the earliest.

The NFLPA must wait for Henderson to make a ruling, which he could rule that Elliott would be suspended for six games, as the NFL ruled, due to its personal conduct policy, or make a decision to cut a few games off of the suspension. Then, once that happens, the NFLPA can act on Elliott’s behalf.

The courts are expected to rule that the NFLPA does not have a foot to stand on at this moment. However, they are expected to re-submit the paperwork once an announcement has been made.

Elliott and the NFLPA allege that the soon-to-be second-year star running back did nothing wrong. Tiffany Thompson, the alleged victim, has made comments that she would ruin his career — and has even attempted to blackmail him.

Thompson alleges that he attacked her in three separate incidents in July 2016. She alleges that he put bruises on her in those incidents.

The NFL ruled that Elliott would be suspended for six games due to its conduct clause after their year-plus investigation.
