The San Jose Sharks have signed forward Brandon Mashinter to a one-year deal. Financial terms of the agreement were not available.
He will be assigned to the San Jose Barracuda in the American Hockey League.

“Brandon brings a veteran presence to our group and his power forward style of play and leadership qualities will be nice complements to our organization’s depth,” Barrachuda’s general manager Joe Will said. “He has won a letter each of the last two seasons, and his combination of size and skill earned him his team’s MVP honors last season.
“We are obviously familiar with him both on and off the ice and are excited to welcome him back to San Jose.”
The 28-year-old played last season with the Rockford IceHogs in the AHL. He had 15 goals and 15 assists for 30 points, along with 70 penalty minutes.
