The South Carolina Gamecocks have lost wide receiver Deebo Samuel for the rest of the season. The red-shirt junior suffered a significant injury against the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday.

The team is not yet saying what kind of injury it is yet. However, it is believed that Samuel suffered either a broken leg or a fractured ankle in the loss.

Head coach Will Muschamp, after the game, said it was a broken leg. However, Samuel on social media insists that the injury is a fractured ankle.

This type of injury usually takes 5-6 weeks to recover. The team may update his condition on Sunday, or early in the week following more tests.

This is a tough loss for the Gamecocks, as the 21-year-old had five receptions for a 122 yards and a touchdown before being hurt. He’s been a key weapon for the team and now they are going to have to do without him moving forward.
