Mohnton, Pa. – For the first-time in his Pro Stock Motorcycle career, Scotty Pollacheck was able to wear a green hat at the end of the first two days of the 33rd annual Dodge NHRA Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway. Pollacheck is the No. 1 qualifier, which is uncharted waters for the Oregon native.
Pollacheck, who also held the No. 1 qualifier spot, following the first session on Friday, went 6.822 at 196.76 mph. He’ll face Andie Rawlings in the first-round of eliminations on Sunday. Rawlings went 7.786 at 171.34 mph.
“In the first-round, we blew our motor, so we had to put a new one in, but I have such an incredible team that we were able to get back out there and have some great runs today,” Pollacheck said. “Nothing is ever easy for us, but to get our first No. 1 ever is such a huge deal.”
Jerry Savoie, the leader of the White Alligator Racing team and reigning Pro Stock Motorcycle champion, went 6.824 at 196.76 mph. He’ll face Lance Bonham in the first-round of eliminations, after he went 7.203 at 186.87 mph.
Hector Arana Jr., who had the provisional No. 1 qualifier on Friday, qualified third with a 6.834 at 196.76 mph. He’ll face Charlie Sullivan in the first-round after he went 7.008 at 189.82 mph.
Eddie Krawiec, who has won the past two races on his Screamin’ Eagle Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Pro Stock Motorcycle, qualified forth with a 6.841 at 197.19 mph run. He’ll face Kelly Clontz in the first-round after she went 6.956 at 193.82 mph.
Andrew Hines, who has not won a race in the past year on his Screamin’ Eagle Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Pro Stock Motorcycle, qualified fifth with a 6.861 at 197.51 mph. He’ll face Ron “Rat” Tornow, who went 6.953 at 192.85 mph.
