Altuve is day-to-day with an injury

Houston Astros second baseman José Altuve left Monday night’s game against the Texas Rangers. He was hit in the left wrist by a pitch before leaving the game.

The Astros were taken a precaution with their star. The X-rays were negative on his left forearm.

He’s dealing with a bruise. It’ll be listed as a day-to-day injury.

The team was leading 11-2 when the injury took place. Besides being hit by the pitch, he also singled and walked in the game.

Altuve left in the eighth inning of the game. He also had an RBI and scored a run in the contest.

This season, the 27-year-old has a .348 batting average with 24 home runs and 80 RBI’s in a 147 games.
