No. 21 Florida Gators quarterback Luke Del Rio has left the game with an injury against the Vanderbilt Commodores on ESPN. Del Rio reportedly left the game with a shoulder injury.

Del Rio, who took over the Gators starting quarterback role this week, was injured when he was hit by Commodores defensive end Dare Odeyingbo.

He had shoulder surgery in the off-season. Del Rio, the son of Oakland Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio, appeared to be in a lot of pain, as he was walking to the locker room with a trainer.

He was replaced by freshman Feleipe Franks, who he took over for last week against the Kentucky Wildcats when the team was struggling. It does not look like Del Rio will return to this game.

Del Rio was 7 of 11 for 64 yards before leaving the game. Franks, who has been inconsistent when he’s been the quarterback, is 4 of 6 for 71 yards in the first half.
