Screamin’ Eagle Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Andrew Hines is the No. 1 qualifier at the sixth annual AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals at Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, Ill. Hines regained his top spot during Saturday’s final qualifying pass.
Hines went 6.781 at 196.19 mph on Saturday afternoon. This is his second No. 1 qualifier of the season and the 40th of his career.
He’ll face Andie Rawlings in the first-round of eliminations.
“Our guys have these bikes dialed in right now, like they haven’t been all season,” Hines said. I’ve been putting up my best 60-foots of the year this weekend. That just equates to good numbers all the way down the track.
“[Sunday] we’re looking for consistency. We have the street rods under us right now that are the best I’ve had all season long. I’m really excited about [Sunday].”
Hines’ teammate Eddie Krawiec, who has won the past three races dating back to the Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals Labor Day weekend, is the No. 2 qualifier. He went 6.783 at 195.59 mph, also during his final qualifying pass.
