LeBrun: Jaromir Jagr, Flames talking

The Calgary Flames may be adding unrestricted free agent Jaromír Jágr. The two sides had conversations on Sunday night, according to The Athletic’s Pierre LeBrun.

The long-time NHL writer suggests there is no guarantee of a contract at this time. But, he says, it’s definitely a possibility.

The 45-year-old has spent the past three seasons with the Florida Panthers. After the 2016-17 season, the team elected to go in a new direction.

Through 82 games last season, he had 16 goals and 30 assists for 46 points. He also had a 56 PIM.

In three seasons, he appeared in a 181 games with the Panthers. He had 49 goals with 81 assists for a 130 points.

In his career, he has appeared in 1,711 NHL games. He has 765 goals and 1,149 assists for 1,914 points.

He has played for the Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers, Panthers, Washington Capitals, New Jersey Devils, Boston Bruins, Dallas Stars and the Philadelphia Flyers in his career. If he signs with the Flames, it’ll be the first-time that he plays for a team in Canada.
