Red Wolves roll over winless Eagles

The Arkansas State Red Wolves picked up their first win of the season on Tuesday night. They defeated the Georgia Southern Eagles, 43-25, at Allen E. Paulson Stadium in Statesboro, Ga.

The Red Wolves improved to 1-2 on the season. The Eagles fell to 0-3.

Red Wolves quarterback Justice Hansen went 12 of 26 for 316 yards. He had four touchdowns and four interceptions.

Hansen had two deep touchdowns to Chris Murray, who had 188 receiving yards in the game. On the two deep touchdowns, he had 113 yards.

He also threw 29-yard touchdown to Blake Mack. Omar Bayless also caught a 37-yard touchdown reception.

Warren Wand had 61 yards and two touchdowns. He scored on a 25-yard and a 12-yard run.

Arkansas State kicker Sawyer Williams also made a 43-yard field goal.

Georgia Southern quarterback Shai Werts went 10 of 18 for 160 yards. He also had a touchdown pass and two interceptions in the game.

Werts hit Obe Fortune for 50-yard touchdown reception. Following the play, the Eagles went for and converted a two-point conversion.

Monteo Garrett had two carries for 77 yards and a touchdown. He scored on a 74-yard rushing touchdown.

Wesley Fields also had 17 carries for 72 yards, along with a touchdown. He scored on an eight-yard rushing touchdown.

Eagles kicker Tyler Bass also made a 27-yard field goal.
