Huskies dismantles Cardinals

The Northern Illinois Huskies defeated the Ball State Cardinals, 63-17, on Thursday night at Brigham Field at Huskie Stadium in DeKalb, Illinois.

The Huskies improved to 7-3 on the season. Ball State fell to 2-9 on the year.

Huskies quarterback Marcus Childers went 10 of 22 for 141 yards. He had four touchdown passes.

Tre Harbison had 12 carries for 52 yards. Jauan Wesley had one reception for 70 yards and a touchdown.

Cardinals quarterback Jack Milas went 10 of 16 for 73 yards. He had one interception.

Caleb Huntley had 22 carries for 70 yards. Khalil Newton had six receptions for 80 yards.

The Huskies outscored the Cardinals 28-10 at halftime. Childers hit Christian Blake for a 19-yard touchdown reception. Jordan Huff scored a 35-yard rushing touchdown.

Daniel Santacaterina hit Wesley for a 70-yard touchdown reception. Jackson Abresch was credited with a one-yard blocked punt returned for a touchdown.

Cardinals’ Malik Dunner scored a four-yard rushing touchdown. Morgan Hagee made a 21-yard field goal.

Northern Illinois led 35-7 at halftime. Childers hit Shane Wimann for a four-yard touchdown reception.

Childers hit Huff for a 24-yard touchdown reception. Abresch scored on a 13-yard blocked punt returned for a touchdown.

D.J. Brown scored a six-yard rushing touchdown. Childers hit Mitchell Brinkman for a five-yard touchdown reception.
