Silvers leads Troy past Texas State

The Troy Trojans blew out the Texas State Bobcats on Saturday. The Trojans won 62-9 at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Troy, Alabama.

Troy improved to 9-1 on the season. They are presently on a five-game win streak.

Texas State ended their season with a 2-9 record. They lost the final four games of the season.

The Trojans will face the Arkansas State Red Wolves on Saturday for the Sun Belt Conference Championship game. The game will be played at Centennial Bank Stadium in Jonesboro, Arkansas at 7:30 pm EST.

Trojans quarterback Brandon Silvers went 22 of 30 for 380 yards. He also had four touchdowns. Kaleb Barker, who came in late, went 4 of 4 for 107 yards and a touchdown.

Jordan Chunn had 10 carries for 80 yards and a touchdown. Barker also had four carries for 15 yards and a touchdown.

B.J. Smith also had 12 carries for 41 yards and a touchdown.

Emanuel Thompson led the receivers with four receptions for 97 yards. Deondre Douglas also had four receptions for 82 yards. Richard Hallman had a 59-yard touchdown reception.

Tray Eafford had two receptions for 49 yards and a touchdown. Tevaris McCormick had two receptions for 14 yards and a touchdown. Clark Quisenberry also had a 19-yard touchdown reception. Sam Letton had an 11-yard touchdown reception.

Trojans kicker Tyler Sumpter also made two field goals.

Bobcats quarterback Damian Williams went 12 of 17 for 136 yards. He also had two interceptions. Willie Jones III also went 2 of 4 for 11 yards.

Anthony Smith had 13 carries for 88 yards. Williams also had eight carries for 26 yards.

Elijah King had six receptions for 109 yards. Caleb Twyford had two receptions for 16 yards.

Bobcats kicker Gavin Graham also made a field goal.
