Young, the alleged suspect, reportedly took $13,600 in cash, while instructing two employees to stay on the floor, before leaving the scene on foot. He allegedly ran towards Tasker Street.
Video also caught the alleged suspect getting into a gold Buick Century, where he met up with a getaway driver. The two then fled on I-95.
The tip came on November 30th when exactly four months after the robbery, police found the getaway vehicle on the 200 block of W. Seymour Street. Rafi Johnson, the owner of the vehicle, was arrested as he approached his vehicle.
After Johnson’s arrest, the police received a search warrant to search his home and the vehicle. He reportedly admitted to being the getaway driver in the robbery.
The law enforcement authorities then received more information after searching his property and speaking with him. The authorities also said that Quasir Wingate, a Wawa assistant manager, who was previously interviewed by authorities as a witness, was allegedly involved in the robbery.
According to Philly.com, Wingate is Young’s brother.
The authorities searched Young’s home on Friday after getting a search warrant. Both Young and Wingate were arrested at the location.
The authorities also reportedly found a hooded sweatshirt, which was allegedly used in the robbery. However, they did not find the money or a weapon.
Young, Johnson, and Wingate are all charged with aggravated assault, robbery, criminal conspiracy, and other charges.
