The No. 16 Baylor Bears defeated the Sam Houston State Bearkats on Monday night. The Bears won 84-56 at the Ferrell Center.
The win snapped the Bears’ two-game losing streak and improved to 6-2 on the season. During their losing streak, they lost those to two Top 25 teams.
The Bearkats fell to 5-4 overall.

“It was great to come back and have a quick turnaround to get a good feeling back,” Bears forward Jo Lual-Acuil Jr. said. “We knew they were a really good team. Coming off two losses in a row, we knew we needed to bounce back, and I think the team did a good job playing with energy.”
Baylor, who was coming into this game following a loss to the No. 6 Wichita State Shockers, went 29 of 60 from the field and 10 of 26 from three-point range. They did; however, go 16 of 24 from the free-throw line.
Sam Houston State went 22 of 63 from the field and 5 of 26 from three-point range. They did go 7 of 11 from the free-throw line.
Both the Bears and the Bearkats had 22 bench points each.
Lual-Acuil Jr. and Nuni Omot lead the Bears with 15 points each. Baylor had six players in double-figures.

King McClure was the only player, who was not in double-figures.
“It was great to see six guys in double-figures, great to see 18 assists,” Baylor head coach Scott Drew said. “I thought the upperclassmen really did a good job making sure we came out intense, focused, and set the tone early. That’s what you need out of your veterans.”
Christopher Galbreath Jr. was the only Bearkats player in double-figures, as he had 24 points.
