The Florida State Seminoles defeated No. 5 Florida Gators on Monday night. The Seminoles won 83-66 at the O’Connell Center.
The Seminoles improved to 7-0 on the season. The Gators fell to 5-2 overall. Also, with its loss, the Gators will drop in the rankings next week when the new rankings are released.
Florida State has won four straight games over their Sunshine State rivals. It’s their longest win streak in the 68-game history of the series.
Despite the Seminoles shooting just 28 of 72 from the field and 7 of 23 overall from three-point range, they still won the game. Florida State did go 20 of 24 from the free throw line.
Florida also struggled from the field, as they went 21 of 58 from the field and 6 of 25 from the three-point line. The Gators, much like the Seminoles, were better from the charity stripe, as they went 18 of 25.
Terance Mann had a game-high 25 points for the Seminoles. He was one of four Florida State players, who scored in double figures.
They only had seven scorers in the game.
Jalen Hudson led the Gators with 16 points. He was one of three scorers in double-figures.
