According to Oregon Ducks athletic director Rob Mullens, former Ducks head coach Willie Taggart is a liar. He lied about being contacted by Florida State.

Reports have now leaked out that Taggart has been in contact with Florida State officials dating back to last Thursday. Jimbo Fisher was still the Seminoles head coach, before he took the Texas A&M Aggies job on Friday.

On Tuesday, Taggart agreed to a multi-year deal to become the next Seminoles head coach. Taggart said over the weekend that he would remain with the Ducks.

“Why wouldn’t I be? I’m the football coach,” Taggart said on Friday when if he would return to the school next season. “You guys are asking me like you’re trying to get me out of here or something.”

Taggart’s tweet was misleading and now an opportunity for him to leverage the Ducks into a better job. Unfortunately, for the recruits, he showed no loyalty.

He has the right to take any job he wants. However, to lie like he did, it may burn him in the long run as people are always going to remember what he did.
