Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz has commented for the first time since he potentially suffered a season-ending torn ACL. Wentz left the game against the Los Angeles Rams at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in the fourth quarter.

He was initially injured when he scored in the end zone on a rush when Rams safety Mark Barrow hit Wentz in his left knee. He stayed in the game — as he must not have felt any pain — then played four more plays, before leaving the game after a touchdown to Alshon Jeffery.

He was also the first to congratulate his teammates in the locker room after they joined him at the end of the game. Wentz helped the Eagles get the win over the Rams before he was replaced by former Eagles starter Nick Foles, who finished up the game.

After going to the locker room, Wentz was almost immediately ruled out for the rest of the game, which meant the injury had to be serious.

While the Eagles believe he could miss the rest of the season, NFL Network’s Steve Wyche took a picture outside the locker room. Wentz would have been walking with crutches if it was a severe injury.

Yet, Wyche caught Wentz in the food line with a soft brace on his knee.

So, right now, it’s a mystery if Wentz has suffered a torn ACL injury, like many pundits believe. Or they are downplaying the injury until further tests are done in the coming days.

Before departing the game against the Rams, Wentz went 23 of 41 for 291 yards. He had four touchdown passes and one interception in the Eagles’ 43-35 win.

The four touchdown passes were the most he had in a season since Week 9 when he helped the Eagles win 51-23 over the Denver Broncos. He went 17 of 25 for 268 yards.

He had four touchdown passes against the Broncos. Wentz also had one interception in the contest.

Before suffering this injury, Wentz was having an MVP-caliber season. He guided the Eagles to an 11-2 record.

The quarterback went 265 of 440 for 3,296 yards. He had 33 touchdown passes and seven interceptions.
