Athletics acquire Piscotty

The Oakland Athletics have acquired outfielder Stephen Piscotty in a trade early Thursday morning. In exchange, the St. Louis Cardinals will receive two minor league players.

The 26-year-old Piscotty played the past three seasons with the Cardinals. With this move, he’s able to go back home to be able to play.

Piscotty was born in Pleasanton, California, a suburb in the San Francisco Bay area. Now, he’ll be able to play across the bridge in Oakland, California.

He played in 107 games this past season. He had .235 batting average with nine home runs and 39 RBI’s.

His best season came in 2015, where he played in a career-high 153 games. He had a .273 batting average that season with 22 home runs and 85 RBI’s. O
