We all know that injuries are apart of the game. However, when it is very serious injuries, that’s nothing a fan or a journalist would like to see.
During Thursday Night Football against the Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts tight end Brandon Williams was carted off the field. He was injured during a freak injury during a punt.
He clashed heads with a Broncos player, before hitting the turf. Initially, it did not look serious; however, he remained on the ground for a long period of time.
He was carted off the field, before going into an ambulance. He was also taken to a local hospital.
During his college football career at Oregon, he was diagnoses with spinal stenosis. He was also declared ‘unfit to take the field’ after that.
“Oregon team doctor Greg Skaggs said concerns were raised within the medical staff,” according to a report on Oregon Live about Williams’ college injury. “Williams was sent to a neck expert, and then to another consultant. Over the course of the summer, Skaggs said opinions were gathered from other doctors in the field, and the conclusion was he had spinal stenosis, a narrowing of the spinal column.”
