Some believe that all the New England Patriots do to win is cheat. Despite their argument, the most interesting thing that happened during the Patriots and New York Jets game happened on the sidelines.
As the Patriots were leading the Jets, 21-3, Bryce Petty attempted to hit Robby Anderson down the left sideline for a reception. Instead, Petty’s throw was off-target and Anderson caught the ball out-of-bounds.
In frustration, he spiked the ball. But instead of the ball just falling to the ground, he actually spiked the ball into Patriots cornerback Johnson Bademosi, who took the ball to the chin.
Almost instantly, Bademosi pulled the biggest flop of the year, as he flopped to the ground in dramatic fashion. He attempted to draw a penalty on Anderson.
However, the referees were not buying it, and they did not throw a penalty flag. Despite not having a penalty thrown on the play, this was one of the most laughable moments of the game, as the Jets are eliminated from postseason contention.
The Patriots are resting players, as they prepare for the playoffs in two weeks.
Anderson would not stay in the game much after this play, as he left the contest in the fourth quarter after taking a shot from Patriots cornerback Stephen Gilmore. The Jets said he was being evaluated for a head injury.
