The No. 6 Wisconsin Badgers were against the odds in their Bowl game. Yet, on Saturday night, they defeated the No. 10 Miami Hurricanes, 34-24, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

The Badgers end their season with a 13-1 record. This squad is the first team in Badgers history to win 13 games.

The Hurricanes, who were playing a home game at Hard Rock Stsdium, where they were 7-0 during the regular season, fell to 10-3.

The Badgers improved to 15-14 all-time in Bowl games. This is also their first-ever Orange Bowl appearance and win.

Wisconsin has won their last four Bowl games.

Badgers quarterback Alex Hornibrook went 23 of 34 for 258 passing yards. The game’s MVP also had four touchdowns.

Jonathan Taylor had 26 carries for 130 rushing yards. Taylor ended his freshman campaign with 1,977 yards, setting the most single-season rushing yards by a freshman.

He broke Adrian Peterson’s 2004 record of 1,925 yards with the Oklahoma Sooners. He also broke former Badgers back Ron Dayne’s 1996 mark of 1,863 in the game, as well.

Taylor has had 10 games with 100 yards this season. According to Wisconsin Badgers Football SID Brian Mason, only former Badgers running back Melvin Gordon III had more with 12 games with 100 yards in 2014.

A.J. Taylor had eight receptions for 105 yards, including a touchdown. Danny Davis III had five receptions for 56 yards, including three touchdowns. Kendric Pryor had two receptions for 30 yards.
