Angola-Rodas leads FSU past UNC

The No. 24 Florida State Seminoles shocked the No. 12 North Carolina Tar Heels on Wednesday night. The Seminoles won 81-80 over the Tar Heels at the Donald L. Tucker Center in Tallahassee, Florida.

The Seminoles improved to 12-2 on the season. The Tar Heels, the reigning college basketball champions, fell to 12-3 on the year.

It is North Carolina’s second loss in their past four games, as they lost to the Wofford Terriers four games ago.

On December 4th, the Seminoles picked up their first win against a ranked team. This is the Seminoles’ second win against a ranked team.

In the December 4th game, the Seminoles won 83-66 over the No. 5 Florida Gators at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center in Gainesville, Florida.

This was their second Atlantic Coast Conference game of the season. They lost their first matchup as the No. 4 ranked Duke Blue Devils won 100-93 on December 30th.

Joel Berry II had a game-high 28 points for the Heels. He also had two rebounds and an assist in 35 minutes of action.

He was one of three Tar Heels, who scored in double-figures. Kenny Williams added 18, while Luke Maye scored 14 points.

North Carolina had 15 bench points, including seven by Cameron Johnson.

Braian Angola-Rodas led the Seminoles with 20 points. He also had five rebounds and two assists in 32 minutes.

Like the Tar Heels, Florida State also had three players, who scored in double-figures. CJ Walker scored 18 points, while Terance Mann scored 17 points.

Florida State had 19 bench points, including nine by Trent Forrest.
