On Thursday, New Japan Pro Wrestling had its version of WrestleMania. The event took place at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan in front of more than 40,000 people, according to the announcers.


The show began with a Battle Royal, as Masahito Kakihara won. He outlasted BUSHI, Chase Owens, Cheeseburger, David Finlay, Delirious, El Esperado, Gino Gambino, Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Jushin Thunder Liger, Katsuya Kitamura, Leo Tonga, Manabu Nakanishi, Satoshi Kolima, TAKA Michinoku, Tiger Mask IV, Toa Henare, YOSHI-HASHI, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, Yuji Nagata and Yujiro Takahashi.


The Young Bucks [Matt and Nick Jackson] defeated Sho Tanaka (SOH) and Yohei Komatsu (YOH) via submission. The Young Bucks are now the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions.


This is their seventh-time that The Young Bucks have won the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions.


Then in a tag team gauntlet, Beretta, Tomohiro Ishii, and Toru Yano defeated all competitors. They became the new NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Champions, as members of  Bullet Club lost.


Beretta, Tomohiro Ishii, and Toru Yano defeated former Bullet Club champions Bad Luck Fale, Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa; Hanson, Raymond Rowe, and Michael Elgin; Taichi, Takashi Iizuka, and Zack Sabre Jr., and Juice Robinson, Ryusuke Taguchi and Togi Makabe.


Kota Ibushi then defeated Cody. EVIL and SANADA became the new IWGP Tag Team Champions after defeating Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Lance Archer.


Hirooki Goto became the new NEVER Openweight Champion in the Hair vs. Hair, No Seconds Deathmatch. He defeated the former champion, Minoru Suzuki.


Will Ospreay won the Fatal Four-way match for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight champion. He outlasted Hiromu Takahashi, KUSHIDA and Bullet Club member Marty Scurll.


Hiroshi Tanahashi retained his IWGP Intercontinental Championship over Jay White. Kenny Omega defeated Chris Jericho in the co-main event in the no disqualification match for the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship.

Kazuchika Okada retained his IWGP World Heavyweight Championship over Tetsuya Naito.
