The North Carolina State Wolfpack pulled an upset on Saturday night. They defeated the No. 2 Duke Blue Devils, 96-85, at PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The Wolfpack improved to 11-5 on the season. North Carolina State snapped a one-game losing streak as they lost 85-58 to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Wednesday night.
This is tied for their biggest win of the season. This is their second sin against a No. 2 ranked team, as they defeated the No. 2 Arizona Wildcats, 90-84, on November 22nd, 2017.
This is also Wolfpack’s Head Coach Kevin Keatts first win in the Atlantic Coast Conference since being hired.
The Blue Devils fell to 13-2 on the season. This snapped Duke’s two game win streak.
They have lost twice in their last four games. The Boston College Eagles defeated the Blue Devils, 89-84, on December 9th, 2017.
Ömer Faruk Yurtseven and Torin Dorn led the Wolfpack with 16 points each. Yurtseven had nine rebounds, three blocks, and a steal.
Dorn has three rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
The Wolfpack has six players, who scored in double-figures. Five were starters and one was from a bench player.
North Carolina State had 25 bench points. Lennard Freeman led the bench with 13 points.
Marvin Bagley III led the Blue Devils with 31 points. He also had 10 rebounds, four blocks and a steal.
Duke had four players, who scored in double-figures. They were four of the five starters.
The Blue Devils has four bench points, all from Javin DeLaurier.
