The Cincinnati Bengals have hired Teryl Austin as their new defensive coordinator. He comes to the team after being on former Detroit Lions head coach Jim Caldwell’s staff.
Austin replaces Paul Guenther, who will join Jon Gruden’s staff with the Oakland Raiders. Before this new appointment, he was the Lions defensive coordinator for the past four years.

“I am excited to add Teryl to our coaching staff as defensive coordinator,” said Lewis. “He is a bright and aggressive coach with a wealth of experience. I look forward to working alongside him to take full advantage of our talented defensive personnel.”
