The Arizona Coyotes have acquired right winger Richard Panik and center Laurent Dauphin in a trade. In exchange, the Chicago Blackhawks have received left winger Anthony Duclair and defenseman Adam Clendening.

No salary was retained in this deal. Panik was a healthy scratch several times this season.

“Richard Panik is a big, skilled winger who is an excellent goal scorer,” Coyotes General Manager John Chayka said. “He’s also a strong two-way forward with great speed and provides a veteran presence. He will be a nice addition to our forward group.”

Dauphin returns to the Coyotes with this deal. He was initially drafted by the Coyotes in the second round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

Before this deal, the 22-year-old Dauphin was playing for the Rockford IceHogs in the American Hockey League. He previously played in 32 NHL games with the Coyotes.

In the 32 games, he had three goals and one assist. He had two goals during the 2016-17 season.

Panik appeared in 37 games with the Blackhawks before the trade. He had six goals and 10 assists.

This is the fourth team in his career. He also played for the Tampa Bay Lighting and the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Panik has been traded for the second time in his career. He was acquired by the Blackhawks in a trade with the Maple Leafs on January 3rd, 2016 for Jeremy Morin.

One year later, Dauphin was traded to the Blackhawks in June 2017. He was traded by the Coyotes with Connor Murphy for Niklas Hjalmarsson.

“We are pleased to re-acquire Laurent Dauphin,” Chayka said. “He’s a good skater and a reliable player with a lot of upside. We’re happy to have him back.”

Duclair appeared in 33 games with the Coyotes before the trade to the Blackhawks. He had nine goals and six assists.

He was acquired by the Coyotes on March 1st, 2015 in a trade with the New York Rangers.

“I really like the way he skates, he brings the ability to be a really electrifying player,” Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman said. “You have to give him some time. He’s coming to a new team so we’ll be patient with him. But that element of speed and youth is something that was really important to us.”

Clendening appeared in five games with the Coyotes before the trade. He also had two assists.
