The Houston Texans have found its replacement for former GM Rick Smith. He took a leave of absence from the team to be with his wife as she deals with breast cancer.

Smith said he’s taking a year away from the team. He also said that he will keep his “GM” title.

The Texans hired Brian Gaine as their new GM on Saturday morning. They have signed him to a five-year deal.

Head Coach Bill O’Brien, who reportedly had a rift Smith, also received a five-year extension. O’Brien was on the hot seat late in the season before Deshaun Watson went to bat for him to keep the coach.

More to come.
