The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed quarterback Darian Durant to a one-year deal. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Durant spent last season with the Montreal Alouettes. He previously played for the Saskatchewan RoughRiders.
In his career, he has 31,740 passing yards. In 174 career games, he also has 167 touchdowns.
“One of our objectives this offseason was to solidify depth at the quarterback position behind Matt Nichols,” Blue Bombers general manager Kyle Walters said. “Not only is Darian a veteran player in our league, but he brings a wealth of experience to our quarterback room and our locker room. In many facets, it’s a great addition for us, and we welcome Darian to the Bomber organization.”
Durant was with the Roughriders from 2006 though 2016. Now, he’s on his second team in two seasons.
The 35-year-old is a two-time Grey Cup Champion. He went 274 of 417 for 3,233 passing yards last season with the Alouettes, along with 15 touchdowns.
