The New York Giants hired James Bettcher as their new defensive coordinator on Tuesday night. He comes to the team after being the Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator.

Bettcher will now call MetLife Stadium home. The person he replaced in Arizona also calls the Stadium home.

He replaced Todd Bowles, who has been the New York Jets Head Coach for the past several seasons. Bowles was the Cardinals defensive coordinator for two seasons in 2013 and 2014.

Bowles received a two-year extension after the conclusion of the season to remain the Jets coach. This season, Bettcher and Bowles will call MetLife Stadium their home for eight games each.

Bettcher was the Cardinals defensive coordinator for the past three season. He picked the Giants over the Tennessee Titans.
