Byrne leads TCNJ past Rowan

Ewing, New Jersey — The College of New Jersey women’s basketball team continued its perfect record at home on Wednesday night. The Lions defeated the Rowan Profs, 87-77, at Packer Hall.
The Lions improved to 15-5 on the season. They are 10-3 within the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
TCNJ is the second-best team in the conference. They trail the Montclair State Red Hawks, who is a perfect 14-0 in the conference and 19-1 overall.
The Profs fell to 11-8 overall. They are now tied with the William Patterson Pioneers for the fourth-best record in the conference at 8-5.
Jen Byrne had a game-high 30 points for the Lions. She also had 12 rebounds, five assists, and three steals.
After scoring just eight points in the first half, Byrne scored 22 points in the final two quarters.
Byrne was one of four Lions players in double-figures. Three were starters, as Nikki Schott added 20 points and Samantha Famulare had 10 points.
Shannon Devitt came off the bench and scored 12 points. She had all of the team’s bench points.
Dominique Peters and Alex Raring led the Profs with 19 points each. Peters has eight rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals.
Rating came off the bench with her 19 points. She also had five rebounds, and one assist.
Summer Crilley was the third Profs player in double-figures. She had 10 points.
Rowan had 29 bench points.
