This is his first No. 1 qualifier of 2018. He had a career-high five No. 1 qualifiers last season. He now has 11 No. 1 qualifiers in his career.

“My crew chief David Grubnic runs this car differently than anybody else out there and he is just one of a kind,” Millican said. “I knew it was a special run at the 330-foot mark, and I even shut the car off a bit early so we know we can improve upon those numbers at some point.”

There are only 14 Top Fuel cars at this event. He’ll face Steve Chrisman, who went 8.066 at 90.75 mph in the first round of eliminations.

Brittany Force, who was the 2017 Top Fuel champion, is the No. 2 qualifier. She went 3.675 at 322.04 mph and will face Terry Haddock, who went 4.133 at 254.76 mph.

Steve Torrence, who had the best season of his career in 2017, is the No. 3 qualifier. He went 3.676 at 329.83 mph and will face Steve Faria, who went 4.081 at 249.44 mph.

Leah Pritchett is the No. 4 qualifier with her 3.687 at 330.23 mph pass and will face Scott Palmer in the first-round of eliminations after he went 3.796 at 325.53 mph. Doug Kalitta is the No. 5 qualifier with his 3.703 at 330.15 mph pass and will face Richie Crampton in the first-round after he went 3.782 at 314.75 mph.
