Head Coach Bruce Pearl surrounded McLemore, while his teammates gathered around him in prayer. McLemore suffered a dislocated ankle, according to the team’s spokesman.

He has left the arena to go to a local hospital in Columbia, South Carolina to get medical attention.

He has started 20 of the team’s 26 games. He was named a starter on the team early in the season following several strong performances that forced Pearl to put McLemore in the starting lineup.

McLemore was averaging 7.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. His season is now likely over but we don’t know that right now until the school confirms the length of his recovery.

According to Mercy Health, a dislocated foot or ankle “can take anywhere from 6 weeks to more than a year (to recover) depending on the severity of the injury. Staying off the ankle and rest are crucial in allowing you to heal as quickly as possible.”

With McLemore sidelined, Pearl is going to have to rely on others to step up in his absence. This will hurt their depth but Pearl and his coaching staff will have to manage for the rest of the season.
