Center Derick Brassard has officially been traded. Yet, he’s still going to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Brassard was reportedly traded to the Penguins earlier on Friday, but the deal was not complete. The Vegas Golden Knights entered into the mix to make it a three-way deal.
The Penguins, in the completed deal, receives Brassard, forward Vince Dunn and winger Tobias Lindberg. They will also receive a third-round draft pick in the 2018 NHL Draft.
The Senators, who are rebuilding after being in the Eastern Conference Finals last season, are receiving defenseman Ian Cole and goalie prospect Filip Gustavsson. They are also receiving a first-round draft pick in 2018, along with a third-round draft pick in 2019.
This is the second deal by the Senators in the past two weeks. They traded defenseman Dion Phaneuf to the Los Angeles Kings.
The Golden Knights are receiving forward Ryan Reaves. They are also receiving a fourth-round pick in the 2018 NHL Draft.
