Charlotte Hornets center Dwight Howard had a monstrous game on Wednesday night. In fact, only two people have put up this stat line since 1982.

Howard had a career-high 30 rebounds against the Brooklyn Nets in the Hornets 111-105 win. He also scored 32 points in the contest.

Besides Howard, Kevin Love is the only other player to put up this type of stat line. It’s the second-time this has happened since 2010, but second overall since 1982.

With Howard’s career night, he set a franchise record with rebounds in a game. He dominated the Nets frontcourt, including having 11 offensive rebounds.

In fact, through Howard’s domination, he caused Jarrett Allen and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson to foul out. Also, Quincy Acy had trouble keep Howard off of the boards.

While Howard had a big night, he did commit his 16th technical foul of the season. That means, unless the foul is rescinded, he will be suspended for one game. Willy Hernangómez and Frank Kaminsky would likely get increased time when Howard has to miss time.

This is only the sixth-time this season that Howard has had more than 20 rebounds in a game. He had 24 rebounds against the Nets on Feb. 22 — and it was the second-time since the New Year.

He had 22 rebounds against the Milwaukee Bucks on Oct. 23, then two days later, had 20 rebounds against the Denver Nuggets. He also had 20 rebounds against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Nov. 20 and had another 20 rebounds against the Chicago Bulls on Dec. 8.
