Despite a Nor’easter pounding the Northeast with tons of snow, the Charlotte Hornets and the Brooklyn Nets still played their game. Yet, the Nets are wishing the game would have been postponed.
The Hornets defeated the Nets, 111-105, on Wednesday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
The Hornets improved to 31-41 on the season. Charlotte snapped a two-game skid with the win.
The Nets fell to 23-49 on the season. Brooklyn had their two-game win streak snapped with this loss.
Dwight Howard led the Hornets with 32 points. He also had 30 rebounds and one assist.
Howard is the second player, according to Yahoo Sports, since 1982 to have this insane stat line with 30 points and 30 rebounds in a game. Kevin Love also did this, while a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves, in 2010.
According to the NBA, Howard is the first person since Moses Malone in 1982 to have 32 points and 30 rebounds in a game. Howard, Love, Malone, Robert Parish and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar are the last five players, who had 30 points and 30 rebounds in an NBA game, according to ESPN’s Stats & Information.
Love had 31 points and 31 rebounds against the New York Knicks on Dec. 11, 2010.
