Tight end Martellus Bennett has been hinting at retirement for several weeks now. On Friday night, he made it official.
Bennett said in a tweet that he’s moving on. He did not say what he’s moving on to.
This news comes on the same that his brother Michael was indicted on an incident involving Martellus playing in Super Bowl LI. After being told he cannot enter a certain way, Bennett allegedly attacked an elderly woman.
Bennett was recently traded to the Philadelphia Eagles. Yet, neither the Seattle Seahawks or the Eagles knew of the alleged incident.
Martellus began the season with the Green Bay Packers after signing a free agent contract with them. He was released mid season, then signed with the Patriots.
