Diamondbacks’ A.J. Pollock hits three home runs against Dodgers

Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder A.J. Pollock had a big game on Monday night, as he hit three home runs against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He now has nine home runs on the season.

The 30-year-old Pollock went 3-of-5 with the three home runs and three RBIs. He also scored three runs, but was caught stealing in the second inning.

The home runs by Pollock were his first since April 27th when he hit a home run against the Washington Nationals. This was his second multi-home run game of the season, as he previously hit two home runs against the Dodgers on April 14th.

Five of his nine home runs have come against the Dodgers. This is the fourth multi-home run game of his career.

He is the fourth MLB player to have a three home run game this season.

Now with his nine home runs, he is tied for the league lead in the National League. He joins Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies and Colorado Rockies center field Charlie Blackmon with nine each.

New York Yankees infielder Didi Gregorius, Los Angeles Angels slugger Mike Trout, and Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger lead the MLB with 10 home runs each.

This season, he has .291 batting average with nine home runs and 24 RBIs through 27 games. He also has 1,021 OPS with 20 runs, along with eight doubles, and two triples over 30 hits.
