The Boston Celtics destroyed the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference Finals match up. The Celtics won 108-83 over the Cavaliers on Sunday afternoon at TD Garden in Boston, Mass.
The Celtics hold a 1-0 advantage in their best-of-seven series. Game 2 of their series will be on Tuesday night in Boston.
This was the Cavaliers first loss since Friday, April 27th against the Indiana Pacers. Cleveland lost in Game 6 of their series with the Pacers before winning in Game 7.
Cleveland had their worst playoff loss since Game 1 of their series with the Pacers. The Cavaliers, like this Game 1, were blown out 98-80 by the Pacers.
Jaylen Brown led the Celtics with 23 points. He also had eight rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block.
Brown was one of four Boston players, who scored in double-figures. Marcus Morris added 21, while Al Horford had 20, and Jayson Tatum contributed 16 points.
The Celtics had 20 bench points. Marcus Smart led the bench with nine points.
Kevin Love led the Cavaliers with 17 points. He also had eight rebounds and three assists.
Love was one of four Cleveland players, who scored in double-digits. LeBron James had 15, while Rodney Hood added 11, and Jordan Clarkson contributed 10 points.
The Cavaliers had 37 bench points. Hood led the bench with 11 points.
