The Boston Celtics continued with their perfect streak at home in the playoffs. The Celtics defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers, 96-83, at TD Bank Garden on Wednesday night in Boston, Mass.

The Celtics now have a 3-2 advantage in the series. In addition, they are a perfect 10-0 at home this postseason.

Boston will now look to close out the series on the road on Friday night in Cleveland, Ohio. However, they are 1-6 on the road this postseason.

The Celtics are the first team since the 1997 Utah Jazz to win 10 games at home in a single postseason. Boston is one of seven teams to win 10 consecutive home games in a postseason.

However, the Jazz are the only team that did not win, as they lost to the Michael Jordan-led Chicago Bulls.

The previous teams to win 10 consecutive games in the playoffs, who went on to win the NBA Championship, are the 1996 Bulls, the 1990 Detroit Pistons, 1987 Los Angeles Lakers, the 1986 Celtics, and the 1977 Portland Trail Blazers.

Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 24 points. This was his first 20-point performance of the series. He also had seven rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and four steals.

Tatum, according to ESPN’s Stats & Information, has 312 points this potseason through 17 games. That is the fourth-most by a rookie in NBA history.

He surpassed Magic Johnson, Wilt Chamberlain, Jack Sikma, and George Mikan on Wednesday night.

Elgin Baylor had 331 points through 13 games in 1959. Alvan Adams had 341 points through 19 games in 1976. And Lew Alcindor (now known as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) had 352 points in 10 games in 1970.

Tatum was one of five Boston players, who scored in double-figures. Jaylen Brown had 17, while Al Horford added 15.

Marcus Smart and Marcus Morris came off the bench and scored 26 points. Smart and Morris had 13 points each.

LeBron James — who looked fatigued for the first time this series — led the Cavaliers with 26 points. He also had 10 rebounds, five assists, and one steal.

James was one of two Cleveland players, who scored in double-digits. Kevin Love also had 14.

The Cavaliers had 33 bench points. Jeff Green and Jordan Clarkson led the bench with 8 points each.
