The Washington Capitals are hosting the Stanley Cup on Saturday night for the first time since 1999. They are also expected to get a roster boost, as well.

Capitals center Evgeny Kuznetsov is expected to play in the game. He’s been dealing with an arm injury.

Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals will be live on NBC Sports Network at 8 pm.

Kuznetsov practiced two straight days before he said ‘we’ll see’ if he plays in Game 3. Before this announcement, Capitals head coach Barry Trotz said he was going to be a game-time decision.

He’s expected to be back on the same line with Alex Ovechkin and Tom Wilson.

Kuznetsov left in the first period of the Capitals 3-2 win on Wednesday night in Las Vegas. He did not return after the team said he suffered an upper-body injury.

He took a hit from Golden Knights defenseman Brayden McNabb that caused him to leave the game. McNabb did not receive a penalty on the play despite Trotz saying there should have been.

“I saw him all the way,” Kuznetsov said. It’s a hockey play. We hit their guys. They hit our guys. It’s just a hockey play, and I’m never going to judge the referees or some players how they play. It’s not on me. But I don’t think that’s dirty, right?”
