Lucas di Grassi won the New York ePrix Race 1 at the Brooklyn Street Circuit in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday in the ABB Formula E Series. di Grassi led 20 of the 43 laps, while also receiving 25 points for the win.
di Grassi won by 0.965 seconds over his ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport teammate Daniel Abt, who finished second in his Spark-Audi car. Abt led 28 laps and finished with 19 points.
Sebastien Buemi was the third-place finisher as he was 2.5 seconds behind di Grassi. Buemi, the driver of the Renault e.Dams car, led five laps and finished with 18 points.

Three cars did not finish the race, while one car did not start. According to Racing Reference, Alex Lynn, the driver of the DS Virgin Racing car, left the race on Lap 33.
Jose Maria Lopez, the driver of the Dragon Racing car, also was retired on Lap 33, according to the site. Nelson Piquet Jr., the driver of the Panasonic Jaguar Racing car, was retired on Lap 33.
His Panasonic Jaguar Racing teammate, Mitch Evans, did not even start the race.
Jean-Eric Vergne is the points leader with 173 points. Sam Bird is second place in points, as he trails Vergne by 31 points with 142 points.

di Grassi trails the leader by 47 points, as he has 126 points. Following the race, Vergne clinched the 2017-18 ABB Formula E Driver’s Championship.
