The Toronto FC has appeared in the Major League Soccer championship game the past two seasons. They should know how to celebrate, right? They did win one of those championships.
But on Wednesday night, those same fans went wild. In fact, they were so reckless that they decided to start a fire in the stands.
The incident happened when Toronto FC were facing the Ottawa Fury in the Canadian Championship semifinal match. The Toronto FC section started a casual fire, as they were burning flags that they were eventually waving.
Following the match, Toronto FC head coach Greg Vanney called it an embarrassing scene. While Vanney apologized, according to social media accounts, there were Fury supporters, who were ejected.

“I would say, on behalf of the club, that we are embarrassed about the incident in the stands,” Vanney said. “Obviously, it will be looked at by the match commissioner and they will handle it accordingly, but from a club perspective, from the team side, it just turned into an embarrassing scene. We apologize from our side.”
There were no arrests made at the scene. We do not know if there will be any moving forward.
Also, The Capital Sports Report is not aware if these fans may be suspended or even banned from attending any future events.
These events have previously happened overseas during soccer matches.
