USC Trojans linebacker Porter Gustin will potentially miss the first six weeks after a partially torn meniscus. He suffered an injury on Tuesday during practice.
He then underwent an MRI. Trojans head coach Clay Helton initially said that the MRI was precautionary.
The senior will spend the next month rehabbing his injury. He several games last season with a toe and biceps injury, as well.
Oluwole Betiku Jr. and Hunter Echols will likely see time with Gustin out of the lineup.
Gustin appeared in just four games last season. He had 16 tackles with 3.0 tackles for a loss. He also had 3.0 sacks, as well.
He played in 24 games in his first two seasons of college football. As a sophomore, he had career-numbers, as he had 68 tackles, 14.0 tackles for a loss, 5.5 sacks, and four pass deflections.
In his career, he has had 109 tackles, 23.0 tackles for a loss, and 14 sacks. He also had four pass deflections.
Betiku Jr. is entering into his junior season with the Trojans. He appeared in just two games last season with two tackles and 0.5 tackles for a loss.
Echols did not appear in a single game last season, so this season will potentially be the first-time he sees college football action.
