Fricke wins third national event Wally in Minnesota

New Jersey native Jackie Fricke won the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway on Sunday in Brainerd, Minnesota. The Top Alcohol Dragster driver defeated Dean Dubbin in the final round.

Fricke went 5.302 at 269.24 mph to win her third career national event win to claim the Wally. Dubbin went 5.443 at 264.86 mph in the losing effort.

Fricke, who drives the Finke Racing Top Alcohol Dragster, has now gone to back-to-back final rounds. She went to the final round at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series at Atco Dragway in Atco, New Jersey on Saturday, August 4th.

She lost to Josh Hart in that final round. Hart picked up his third straight win at Atco Dragway with the win.

This was the first-time that Fricke and Dubbin faced each other in eliminations. Dubbin is from Little Falls, Minnesota.

Dubbin had the advantage off of the starting line. However, Fricke was able to catch up to him, before driving past him at half trick. She won the race by approx. 38 feet.

This is Fricke’s first national event win in more than a year, as she won the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio in July 2017 when she defeated Chris Demke in the final round.
