Rousey’s win highlights the 2018 SummerSlam

Seth Rollins, along with his fellow Shield mate Dean Ambrose, who returned after being out nine months with an injury, defeated Dolph Ziggler to become the new WWE Intercontinental Champion to kick off the 2018 Summerslam pay-per-view at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Drew McIntyre was in Ziggler’s corner.

The New Day (Big E and Kofi Kingston) defeated The Bludgeon Brothers (Harper and Rowan) by disqualification. The Bludgeon Brothers retained their WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship with the disqualification.

Braun Strowman defeated Kevin Owens. The Monster Among Men retained his Money in the Bank contract with the win as the stipulation was if he was disqualified or counted out, he would have lost it.

In a triple treat match, Charlotte Flair defeated Carmella and Becky Lynch. Flair became the new WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion with the win.

Samoa Joe defeated AJ Styles by disqualification. However, like The Bludgeon Brothers, who was also disqualified, Styles retained his WWE Championship.

The Miz then defeated Daniel Bryan. “The Demon” Finn Bálor defeated Baron Corbin.

Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Jeff Hardy. Nakamura retained his WWE United States Championship with the win.

Ronda Rousey defeated Alexa Bliss by submission. Rousey became the new WWE Raw Women’s Champion.

Roman Reigns also defeated Brock Lesnar in the main event of the show. Reigns is the new WWE Universal Champion.

Strowman informed Reigns that he was going to challenge for the WWE Universal Championship in the near future.
