The Street Outlaws Oklahoma City crew call themselves the fastest group of street racers in the country — and world after they defeated Canada in this season on TV. However, on Wednesday, they did not win the second annual Street Outlaws Bristol event at Bristol Dragway in Bristol, Tennessee.

The Megalodon, driven by Brent Austin, who resides in Goodview, Virginia, won the event. He defeated Jeff Lutz in the final round for the TV program that will air in early 2019.

Austin used his ’69 Pro Charged Camaro to win $100,000 of the $200,000 prize. Lutz, who was driving his ’57 Chevy Bell Air, was the runner-up and took home $50,000. The rest of the six drivers split $50,000 between themselves.

While Lutz races on the Oklahoma City show, he has a race shop in Callery, Pa. That’s only 35 minutes away from Pittsburgh, Pa.

Only two rounds were completed on Tuesday because of inclement weather. That caused racing officials to move the rest of the event to Wednesday.

Austin had to go through outlast the 32-car field, as he went through Lutz, Rich Bruder, Jerry Bird, and Larry Larson to win the event. Lutz advanced to the final round after he defeated “The Reaper” driven by James Goad.

In the inaugural Street Outlaws Bristol TV episode from last August, Justin “Big Chief” Shearer defeated Bird in the final round. That episode was completed around 2:30 am.

This time around, Big Chief was eliminated in the first-round. Bird was eliminated in the second round.
