Free agent swingman Nick Young was arrested in Hollywood, according to TMZ. The site is reporting he was arrested for obstruction of justice.
They are reporting that he was pulled over before midnight PST. Then, they say, something went wrong.
According to online terms, the term of obstruction of justice is a crime of obstructing prosecutors or government officials.
TMZ is reporting, according to one witness, that Young was ordered out of his vehicle. He was placed up against a wall, the witness says, and was handcuffed.
This may impact if another team signs him. Presently, he is not signed.
He played last season with the Golden State Warriors. Young also won an NBA Championship in June when the Warriors swept the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Swaggy P, as he’s also known, averaged 7.3 points, 1.6 rebounds, 0.5 asisists, 0.5 steals, and 0.1 blocks per game. He appeared in 80 regular season games with the Warriors, including eigt starts.
When the Warriors advanced to the playoffs this season, it was the first-time he made the playoffs since the 2011-12 season with the Los Angeles Clippers. In Golden State’s playoff run, he appeared in 20 games, including two starts. He averaged 2.6 points, 1.6 rebounds, 0.2 assists, and 0.1 steals per game.
